CSIR CSIO Recruitment 2026 Salary
Selected candidates will receive pay according to the applicable 7th CPC Pay Matrix:
- Security Officer: Level-7, Rs44,900–Rs1,42,400; approximate total emoluments Rs93,758 per month.
- Receptionist: Level-6, Rs35,400–Rs1,12,400; approximate total emoluments Rs74,530 per month.
- Driver: Level-2, Rs19,900–Rs63,200; approximate total emoluments Rs41,718 per month.
The approximate emoluments include applicable allowances such as HRA and other Council allowances. CSIR employees may also receive benefits such as medical reimbursement, LTC and Children Education Allowance according to rules.
CSIR CSIO Selection Process 2026
The selection process differs according to the post.
Security Officer
Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements will first undergo a Physical and Personality Assessment Test, which is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify will proceed to the written examination. The final merit list will be based on performance in the competitive written examination.
The physical standards include minimum height and chest requirements. The physical events include running, long jump, chin-ups, push-ups and sit-ups for eligible candidates, with separate requirements for male and female candidates.
The written test contains Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I carries 100 marks and has no negative marking. Paper-II covers Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations/Firefighting and General Awareness.
Receptionist
The selection procedure mentioned in the notification is a Personality Assessment Test.
Driver
Eligible candidates will first be called for a Skill Test. Those who qualify will be invited for the written examination, and the final merit list will be prepared based on the competitive written examination.
The Driver written exam has 100 questions, 300 maximum marks and a duration of 90 minutes. It covers General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Language, with one negative mark for every wrong answer.
