Experience Required
- Assistant: 6 years' relevant office clerical experience in Pay Level 5 (Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300), or a combined service of 8 years in Pay Level 4 (Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100) and Pay Level 5, for officials of Government or autonomous institutions.
- Junior Assistant: 5 years' relevant office clerical experience in Pay Level 3 (Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100), or 8 years in Pay Level 2 (Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200), for officials of Government or autonomous institutions.
- Junior Accountant: 5 years' relevant post-qualification experience in Pay Level 3 (Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100) for officials of Government or autonomous institutions.
- Non-Government candidates: Equivalent service and pay in non-Government offices or on a contract basis is accepted. The pay must be at least the minimum salary of the level: Pay Level 5 Rs 29,200, Pay Level 4 Rs 25,500, Pay Level 3 Rs 21,700 and Pay Level 2 Rs 19,900 (for 2016 onwards).
Important conditions:
- Relevant experience means experience in office clerical or administrative matters, preferably in Central or State Government, an academic institution of national or state importance, PSUs, autonomous institutions or reputed private firms.
- Apprenticeship and training of any form are not counted as experience. Experience is counted in years, months and days, with 30 days taken as one month and 12 months as one year.
- Graduation from the Armed Forces is not considered for posts with Pay Level 6 and above.
- The eligibility, age and qualification are counted as on the last date of the online application.
Selection Process
The method of selection for all three posts is a Written Test only.
- Only shortlisted candidates are called for the written test. IIMK may limit the number of candidates called, based on parameters above the essential qualifications.
- Certificates are verified at the time of the written test or interview. Candidates who do not meet the criteria are rejected, even if they were called.
- Candidates must carry one of these as identity proof: Passport, Electoral Identity Card or Aadhaar Card.
- The place of initial posting for the Assistant post reserved for ST and for the Assistant ranked first in the UR category is the Kochi Campus.

Regular staff also get accommodation (depending on availability), medical facility, LTC and the National Pension System. Selected candidates join at the entry pay of the level, and no pay protection is given. They cannot apply for outside employment for the first three years.

Documents Required

- Experience certificates from the latest to the earliest employment, with the period of employment
- Proof of salary drawn during the full period of experience (initial salary proof, proof of change of pay level and latest salary proof)
- Community certificate for SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS in the Government of India format
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate from the current employer
- Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen, or medical certificate from a Medical Board for PwD
Candidates working in Government, PSUs or autonomous bodies must send the application through proper channel. A print-out can be sent as an advance copy, but the application is considered only after the channel copy or a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is submitted at the time of the written test or interview.
