Indian Coast Guard Group C Recruitment Selection Process

The Indian Coast Guard Group C selection process includes the following stages:

1. Scrutiny of Applications

Applications will first be scrutinized according to the prescribed eligibility criteria and submitted documents.

2. Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification before appearing in the written examination. Candidates must bring their original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies.

3. Biometric Verification

The candidate's photograph and thumb impression will be captured during the initial document verification. Biometric details will be used for identity verification during the recruitment process.

4. Written Examination

The written examination will be pen-paper based, bilingual and of one-hour duration. It will contain 80 objective-type questions, with one mark for each correct answer. There is no negative marking.

The syllabus includes:

• General Knowledge

• Mathematics

• General English

• Relevant Trade Questions

5. Trade Test

Candidates who qualify the written examination may be shortlisted for a trade test, wherever applicable.

The qualifying marks are 50% for the general candidates and 45% for SC/ST candidates. No relaxation in qualifying marks is available to OBC and EWS candidates.

Indian Coast Guard Group C Recruitment Salary / Pay Scale

The post-wise pay scales are:

• Engine Driver: Rs25,500–Rs81,100, Pay Level 4

• Store Keeper Grade II: Rs19,900–Rs63,200, Pay Level 2

• Civilian Motor Transport Driver: Rs19,900–Rs63,200, Pay Level 2

• Lascar: Rs18,000–Rs56,900, Pay Level 1

• MTS (Peon): Rs18,000–Rs56,900, Pay Level 1

• MTS (Chowkidar): Rs18,000–Rs56,900, Pay Level 1

How to Apply for Indian Coast Guard Group C Recruitment 2026

Eligible candidates must apply using the prescribed offline application form.

Step 1: Download or obtain the prescribed application format given in Annexure-I.

Step 2: Fill the application form in English or Hindi.

Step 3: Affix a recent self-attested colour photograph to the application.

Step 4: Attach self-attested photocopies of the required documents, including:

• Valid Photo ID proof

• Matriculation certificate and marksheet

• 12th/UG/PG/Diploma certificates, wherever applicable

• Latest SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate, if applicable

• Experience certificate

• NOC from the employer, if working in a Government organization

• Two latest passport-size colour photographs

Step 5: Enclose a separate blank envelope with a Rs50 postal stamp, addressed to yourself.

Step 6: Clearly superscribe the application envelope in bold letters with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ______” along with the applicable category.
