ITBP Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
1. Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who qualify for the recruitment process will be called for Document Verification. During this stage, all original documents, educational certificates, age proof, caste/category certificates (if applicable), internship completion certificate, Medical Council registration, and other required documents will be verified. Candidates must produce valid originals along with self-attested photocopies. Failure to provide the required documents may lead to disqualification.
2. Interview / Personality Test
Eligible candidates will appear for an Interview/Personality Test conducted by the Medical Officer Selection Board. The interview evaluates the candidate's professional knowledge, communication skills, decision-making ability, leadership qualities, confidence, and overall suitability for the Medical Officer post in the Central Armed Police Forces. The final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate's performance in the interview and other recruitment criteria.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who qualify in the interview will undergo a Physical Standard Test (PST). This stage checks whether candidates meet the prescribed height, chest (for male candidates), and weight standards as specified in the official notification. The PST is qualifying in nature, and candidates who fail to meet the required physical standards will not be considered for further selection.
4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME)
Candidates who clear the PST will undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) conducted by the designated Medical Board to assess their physical and medical fitness for service. The examination includes vision, hearing, overall physical health, and other medical parameters. Candidates declared medically unfit in the DME may be allowed to appear for a Review Medical Examination (RME) within the prescribed time as per the recruitment rules. Final appointment will be subject to being declared medically fit.
