Candidates must have passed Matriculation/Class 10th with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board. They must also possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT/SCVT as prescribed.

Important: Candidates whose SSC or ITI results are awaited as on the notification date are not eligible. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are also not eligible under this particular apprenticeship notification.

The application fee is Rs. 100/- and is non-refundable. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates are exempted from payment. The fee can be paid through the integrated online payment gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI or Internet Banking.

RRC ECOR Apprentice Selection Process 2026

The selection will be based on a merit list. There will be no written examination or viva/interview.

The selection process includes:

1. Online application submission.

2. Preparation of trade-wise and community-wise merit list.

3. Merit calculation based on Matriculation marks.

4. Shortlisting according to the applicant's preference and available Unit-Department-Trade.

5. Document Verification.

6. Medical fitness verification.

7. Final apprenticeship engagement.

For merit calculation, marks from all subjects in the Matriculation mark sheet are considered. The notification does not permit a “best of five” calculation. In case of equal marks, the older candidate gets preference; if the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier gets preference.

RRC ECOR Apprentice Salary / Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend at the prescribed rate applicable under the prevailing apprenticeship rules and Railway Board directives.

The notification does not specify a fixed rupee amount in the recruitment notice, so candidates should not rely on unofficial stipend figures.

The apprenticeship is training-based, and candidates will be released after completion of the training. No hostel accommodation will be provided.
