SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 comprises multiple stages to assess candidates’ knowledge, skills, and suitability for the role.

Phase I: Online Preliminary Examination (100 Marks)
This is the first stage of the selection process. It is an objective-type online test conducted for a total of 100 marks. The exam includes three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must qualify in this stage to move to the next phase. Marks obtained in the preliminary exam are not considered for the final merit list; it is only qualifying in nature.

Phase II: Online Main Examination (200 Marks)
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Exam are shortlisted for the Main Examination. This is also an objective-type online test with a total of 200 marks. The exam consists of sections such as General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. Marks obtained in this stage are crucial, as they are considered for final selection.

Phase III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
Candidates who qualify for final selection must appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test. This test ensures that candidates can read, write, and understand the local language of the state they have applied for. Candidates who have studied the local language in their 10th or 12th standard may be exempted from this test.

Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates are required to present original documents for verification, including educational certificates, identity proof, caste/category certificates (if applicable), and other relevant documents. Failure to provide valid documents may lead to disqualification.

Medical Examination
Finally, candidates must undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the health standards required for the job. Only medically fit candidates will be considered for final appointment.
