Educational Qualification
The qualification is different for different posts.
Personal Assistant
For most Personal Assistant posts, candidates need:
- Intermediate (12th) pass from Uttarakhand Board, UP Board or an equivalent recognised examination.
- Hindi shorthand speed of at least 80 words per minute.
- Hindi computer typing speed of at least 4,000 key depressions per hour.
Personal Assistant – Judicial & Legal Academy
Candidates need:
- Intermediate pass.
- One-year certificate/diploma in stenography and typing from a recognised institution.
- Hindi shorthand: 80 WPM.
- English shorthand: 100 WPM.
- Computer typing: 4,000 key depressions per hour.
Stenographer
Candidates need:
- Intermediate pass.
- English shorthand: 80 WPM.
- Hindi shorthand: 80 WPM.
- English typing: 40 WPM.
- Hindi typing: 40 WPM.
Stenographer Grade-3
Candidates need:
- Graduation from a recognised university.
- Knowledge of Devanagari script.
- English shorthand: 80 WPM.
- Hindi shorthand: 60 WPM.
- Hindi computer typing: 6,000 key depressions/hour.
- English computer typing: 7,000 key depressions/hour.
- At least a 3-month MS Office certificate course.
Stenographer Grade-2
Candidates need:
- Intermediate qualification.
- Hindi shorthand/typing: 80/25 WPM.
- English shorthand/typing: 80/30 WPM.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

The selection process has two main stages.

Written Examination
Candidates first have to appear for an objective-type written competitive examination.
- Mode: Offline/OMR
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 2 hours
- Questions are based on the prescribed syllabus related to the post.
The written examination is used to prepare the merit list.

Candidates shortlisted from the written examination will be called for the required typing and shorthand/dictation test.
