- Candidates with ITI/Certificate/Diploma must have completed Matriculation from a recognized Board with a 1/2-year ITI Diploma/Certificate in Information Technology (IT/ITES) or a 3-year Diploma in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/IT from an AICTE-approved Polytechnic.
- Candidates must have a computer typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
- Candidates must submit their prescribed application form—duly filled and signed with a recent passport-size photograph—along with self-attested copies of all required documents to The Director General, Home Guards & Civil Defence, US Club, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – 171001 via Registered Post or by hand in an envelope super-scribed as "Application for the post of JOA (IT)" on or before October 31st (or November 10th for tribal areas).
