Income Tax Pune Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 (ax Assistant, MTS and Steno 85 Posts)

Overview

The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT), Pune Region has released the Income Tax Department Pune Recruitment 2026 notification (F. No. Pr.CCIT/Pune/SRC/Notification.2026-27, dated 10 August 2026), inviting online applications from meritorious sportspersons for 85 Sports Quota vacancies. The recruitment includes Stenographer Grade-II, Tax Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts under the Income Tax Department, Government of India.

This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for sportspersons seeking Central Government jobs through the Sports Quota.

The online application process started on 15 August 2026, and the last date has been extended to 30 September 2026. Applications can be submitted through the official Income Tax India recruitment portal, and candidates are allowed to apply for one or more posts through a single application, but only one application per candidate is permitted.

Eligible candidates must be meritorious sportspersons who have represented India, a State/UT, a University, or their State School in any of the 17 recognized sports or games listed in the notification. Candidates should carefully verify the post-wise educational qualification, age limit, sports eligibility, and reservation provisions before applying.

The selection process will be conducted according to Income Tax Department Sports Quota recruitment guidelines and is expected to include evaluation of sports achievements, document verification, and other procedures specified in the official notification. Selected candidates will be appointed to Stenographer Grade-II, Tax Assistant, or Multi-Tasking Staff posts in the Pune Region.

Application Fee

Application fee payable: ₹200 (Rupees Two Hundred only).
The fee must be paid through online mode only, and proof of payment must be furnished with the application.

Tax Assistant (TA) : Between 18 and 27 years
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) : Between 18 and 25 years
