  • Candidates must be minimum 10th (HSLC) passed from a Board/Institution recognised by the State or Central Government.
  • Must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of the area for which appointment is sought.
  • Must be physically fit and of sound mind.
  • Must not have been declared insolvent or a defaulter in payment of Government dues (a Bakijai Clearance Certificate must be furnished).
  • Must not be a government employee.
  • Must not be a member of any political party.
  • Must have land or immovable property in his/her own name in the village where appointment as Gaon Pradhan is sought.
  • Preference will be given to family members of the previous Gaon Pradhan, and the views of the Mouzadar will be taken into consideration.
  • Candidate should be a person of high status and command, holding a respectable position in society.
  • Candidate must not have more than 2 (two) living children from a single or multiple partners (as per Government of Assam Notification dated 19th July 2019, No. RLR.187/2007/Pt/24).
  • Candidate must furnish a self-affidavit confirming they do not have more than two living children from a single/multiple partners.
