UPSC Engineering Service Examination 2027 ESEP (480 Post)

Overview

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2027 notification, inviting online applications for recruitment to prestigious engineering posts in various Central Government departments and organizations. Commonly known as the Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination, this recruitment offers opportunities for engineering graduates to secure Group A and Group B Gazetted positions in technical services across India.

The online application process will begin on 19 September 2026 and remain open until 06 October 2026 through the official UPSC website. Applications will be accepted only in online mode, and candidates should complete their registration before the deadline.

Eligible candidates must possess the prescribed Engineering Degree in the relevant discipline as specified in the official notification. Applicants should carefully verify the discipline-wise eligibility, age limit, reservation rules, and other conditions before applying.

The selection process will be conducted according to UPSC Engineering Services Examination rules and consists of a Preliminary Examination (Objective), Main Examination (Conventional), Personality Test (Interview), and document verification. Selected candidates will be appointed to various Central Government engineering services and will receive salary and allowances as per the applicable 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay scales.
