- Possession of a valid Driving License for Motor Car is required
- Eligible candidates must apply online only through the official portal https://recruit-delhi.nielit.gov.in between 28 January 2026 (11:30 AM) and 26 February 2026 (5:30 PM). Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted. Candidates must register using a valid email ID and active mobile number and carefully follow the instructions available on the portal. Only one application for one Region (Southern or Western) is permitted; multiple applications will lead to rejection. The application will be treated as complete only after successful submission and payment of the application fee (if applicable). Candidates must upload all required documents, including proof of age, educational qualification, caste/EWS certificate (if applicable), driving license, experience certificate, photo ID, photograph, and signature. After submission, candidates should retain a printout of the application form for future reference.
- The selection process consists of a Written Examination followed by a Skill Test, which is qualifying in nature. The written examination will be objective type (OMR/Computer Based) with 120 questions, carrying 1 mark each, with no negative marking, and a total duration of 2 hours. The exam will cover General Awareness, General Intelligence & Elementary Mathematics, General English/Hindi, Traffic Rules & Regulations, Driving Techniques, and Basic Motor Car Mechanism. Candidates qualifying the written test will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 5:1 ratio. The Skill Test will assess practical driving skills, knowledge of motor mechanics, traffic rules, and the ability to identify and rectify minor vehicle defects. Final selection will be made solely on the basis of merit in the written examination, subject to qualifying the Skill Test, medical fitness, and document verification. In case of a tie, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
