BTSC has announced 787 vacancies, including backlog vacancies. The category-wise distribution is as follows:

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

• B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science), or

• B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry)

The degree must be from a university recognised by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

Candidates must also be permanently registered with the Bihar Veterinary Council. 

Important Reservation Conditions

Reservation benefits are generally available to eligible permanent residents/domiciles of Bihar. Candidates from outside Bihar do not receive Bihar State reservation benefits.

The notification also provides 50% horizontal reservation for candidates who have graduated from veterinary colleges located within Bihar, across the applicable categories.

The selection process consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by consideration of eligible contractual work experience and document verification.

Experience Weightage

Eligible contractual experience can carry up to 25 additional marks.

Candidates can receive 5 marks for each eligible year of contractual service, subject to the maximum of 25 marks. Proportionate marks are provided for a part of a year according to the notification.

Therefore, the final merit is prepared out of 100 marks:

• CBT: 75 marks

• Eligible contractual experience: 25 marks

Candidates must claim eligible experience in the application and provide the prescribed certificate.
