The state-wise vacancy table and reservation distribution are provided in the official advertisement. Candidates can give district preferences within their selected State, but allotment is subject to availability and the Bank's administrative requirements.

Canara Bank Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Graduation must have been completed between 01 January 2023 and 01 September 2026, both dates inclusive.

Age Limit

The candidate must be between 20 and 28 years as on 01 September 2026.

Candidates must have been born between 02 September 1998 and 01 September 2006, both dates inclusive.

 

Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or another organization are not eligible. Candidates having one or more years of job experience after completing their educational qualification are also not eligible.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates who studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard and can provide the relevant marksheet/certificate do not have to take the local language test.

Other candidates will have to qualify in the local language test during document verification.

Application Fee

The fee/intimation charges are non-refundable and payment is made online.

Canara Bank Apprentice Selection Process 2026

The selection process does not prescribe a written examination in the notification.

The Bank will prepare a State-wise merit list in descending order based on marks/percentage obtained in 12th Standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma.

The minimum qualifying marks are:

• 60% for General/EWS and other applicable candidates.
• 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

If candidates have the same percentage, the candidate's age in descending order will determine the merit ranking. Document verification, local language test where applicable, and medical fitness are required for final selection.

Canara Bank Apprentice Stipend 2026

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 16,650 during the 12-month apprenticeship.

According to the notification, Canara Bank will pay Rs 10,500 per month, while the Government share of Rs 6,150 will be credited directly to the apprentice's bank account through DBT, as per applicable guidelines.

The apprenticeship is for 12 months, and apprentices are not considered regular employees of Canara Bank. The Bank also states that there is no obligation to provide regular employment after completion of the apprenticeship.

How to Apply for Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Follow these steps to apply:

1. Visit the NATS portal and register as an apprentice.
2. Complete your NATS profile to 100%.
3. Note down the NATS enrollment ID.
4. Visit the Canara Bank official website.
5. Go to Careers → Recruitment.
6. Select Engagement of Graduate Apprentices in Canara Bank under Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27.
7. Click on New Registration.
8. Enter your personal and educational details carefully.
9. Upload the required photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
10. Select only one State/UT and provide district preferences.
11. Pay the applicable application fee online.
12. Submit the application and save the registration details.
13. Take a printout of the final application for future reference.

The notification states that candidates must use the NATS enrollment ID while applying for the Canara Bank apprenticeship. No other mode of application will be accepted.
