Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have registered on the NATS portal, nats.education.gov.in. Non-registered candidates are likely to be rejected.
- Candidates who passed the B.E / B.Tech / Diploma / BBA / B.Com / B.Lib.Sc in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible. Those who passed before 2022 are not eligible.
- Only candidates who passed the qualifying examination as regular candidates can apply.
- Candidates with a higher qualification are not eligible.
- Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after getting the essential qualification are not eligible.
- PwBD candidates are eligible only for the trades designated under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

The training period is 12 months, starting from the execution of the apprenticeship contract.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting of candidates by ITR
- Written test, personal interview or both, for shortlisted candidates only
- Verification of credentials before the contract is made
ITR may adopt its own method of shortlisting and is not bound to shortlist all candidates who meet the minimum requirements. Reservation will apply as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
How to Apply for DRDO ITR Apprentice Recruitment 2026
- Register on the NATS portal, nats.education.gov.in, if you have not done so.
- Download the application form (Annexure-A, in .docx) from drdo.gov.in.
- Type the form. Handwritten forms are not accepted, except the signature.
- Write your marks in percentage. Convert CGPA into percentage as per your university norms.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of the documents listed below.
- Put the form in a sealed envelope marked "Application for Apprenticeship Training: Category … & Subject/Discipline …".
- Send it by Speed Post or Registered Post only to: The Director, Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Balasore, Odisha-756025. It must reach on or before 2 November 2026.
- Keep a copy of the application for your record.

Important Terms
