The fee must be paid online through SBI Collect. It is not refundable under any circumstances, and an application submitted without the fee is rejected. After payment, UR, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates must wait 48 to 72 hours for the payment to be validated before they can download the final application form.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 28 years as on 17 October 2026 for UR and EWS candidates. The notification does not state a minimum age.

After all relaxations, the age must not exceed 55 years for other candidates and 56 years for PwBD candidates. OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS candidates who apply for a UR post are treated on par with UR criteria.

Six vacancies are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities, spread across the categories.
Qualification: a regular, full-time degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognised university or institute (10+2+4 system, or 10+3+3 for lateral entry) in the eligible branch of the discipline applied for. Examples of eligible branches are Aerospace or Aeronautical (Aeronautical), Chemical Engineering (Chemical), Electrical, Electrical and Electronics (Electrical), Electronics and Communication (Electronics), and Mechanical, Mechatronics or Mechanical and Industrial (Mechanical). Minimum marks: at least 60% aggregate for UR, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, and 50% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. Marks of all semesters are added together, and there is no rounding off.
Candidates with a diploma and the respective engineering degree must enter their degree marks. Five or six-year integrated degrees in the relevant branch are also eligible. Part-time, correspondence, distance and e-learning degrees are not valid. Only Indian nationals can apply, and each candidate can apply for only one discipline. Candidates should check the official notification for the full list of conditions.

Selection is through the interview only, and there is no written test. Candidates are shortlisted in order of merit in the ratio of 1:10 (maximum) to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category. If marks are tied, the older candidate is considered first. Candidates must score at least 50% marks in the interview to qualify, and relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwBD candidates as per rules. The interview is tentatively scheduled for November 2026, and the date and venue are sent by email only.

Tenure conditions: the engagement is for a maximum of 3 years and ends automatically, without further notice and with no extension. Either side can end it earlier by giving one month's notice, or by paying Basic and DA in lieu of notice. It does not give any right to claim the status of a regular executive.
