Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has announced the IOB LBO Exam Date 2026 for 250 Local Bank Officer posts in JMGS-I. The online examination will be conducted on 24 September and 29 September 2026. The original notification invited applications from 8 August to 24 August 2026.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. A valid marksheet/degree certificate showing graduation status on the registration date is required.
Candidates must also have proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the required local language of the state applied for.
IOB LBO Exam Pattern 2026
The online examination contains 140 objective questions for 200 marks with a total duration of three hours.

There is a 0.25-mark penalty of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer. No penalty applies to unanswered questions.
IOB LBO Selection Process
The IOB LBO selection process consists of:
Online Examination → Language Proficiency Test (where applicable) → Personal Interview → Final Selection
Candidates who did not study the required local language in Class 10 or 12 may have to appear for the LPT. Candidates who studied the prescribed language in Class 10 or 12 and can provide supporting proof are exempt from the LPT.
The Personal Interview carries 100 marks. The final selection uses an 80:20 weightage for the online examination and interview respectively.
IOB LBO Exam Salary / Pay Scale
IOB has specified the following Scale-I basic pay:
Rs48,480 – 2,000/7 – Rs62,480 – 2,340/2 – Rs67,160 – 2,680/7 – Rs85,920
DA, HRA, CCA and other applicable benefits will be provided as per the rules in force. Selected candidates will remain on probation for two years of active service.
A Financial Service Indemnity Bond of Rs2 lakh is also required for a minimum service period of three years.
