Educational Qualification
Subedar (Ministerial)-Stenographer:
Candidates must have:
- Passed Higher Secondary/10+2 examination.
- Passed Hindi shorthand at 100 words per minute from a recognised board/institution.
- Passed CPCT with Hindi typing.
- Additionally, the notification accepts specified computer qualifications such as DOEACC diploma, one-year COPA certificate, Modern Office Management qualification or computer diploma from a UGC-recognised institution.
Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial):
Candidates must have:
- Passed 12th/10+2 from a recognised board/institution.
- Passed CPCT with Hindi typing.
- Candidates with specified qualifications such as an Engineering Degree, MCA, BCA, M.Sc. Computer Science/IT, AICTE-approved Polytechnic Diploma, DOEACC diploma, COPA or specified computer diploma may also meet the computer qualification requirement.

The recruitment has a two-stage selection process.

The paper is divided into:
- 40 Marks: General Knowledge & Logical Knowledge
- 30 Marks: Intellectual Ability & Mental Aptitude
- 30 Marks: Science & Simple Arithmetic
The examination is conducted in Hindi, with objective-type questions.
The written examination is scheduled for 03 November 2026, with two shifts: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and 3:00 PM–5:00 PM.
Stage 2 – Document Verification & Practical Test
Candidates shortlisted from Stage 1 will be called for document verification and the practical examination.
The practical test has a minimum qualifying requirement of 30% marks. Final selection is based on the combined marks obtained in the written and practical examinations.
For Subedar Stenographer, the practical examination includes Hindi shorthand dictation and transcription/typing. Two dictations are given at 100 words per minute for 5 minutes each.
For ASI Ministerial, the practical test includes Hindi typing. Two paragraphs of 600 words each are provided, with 30 minutes allotted for typing each paragraph.
