The Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (S.S.S.C.) under the High Court of Punjab and Haryana has released Detailed Employment Notice No. 37C/SSSC/PB/2026 dated October 3, 2026, for the recruitment of 1,270 Clerk posts in the District Courts of Punjab. The online application process will start on October 7, 2026, at 4:00 PM and close on November 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Punjab and Haryana High Court Clerk Vacancy 2026

The recruitment notification includes vacancies for General, EWS, SC, BC/OBC, Freedom Fighter, Sportsman, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen categories of Punjab. Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Clerk post should:

• Possess a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the subjects.
• Have proficiency in computer operation.
• Fulfill the required qualification by the closing date of the online application.

The application fee is non-refundable and has to be paid online.

Punjab High Court Clerk Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer-Based Written Examination

The written examination will be conducted online. It will have a total of 100 marks and a duration of 2 hours.

The subjective English section includes an essay, letter, précis and Punjabi-to-English translation. Candidates must secure 33% in each subject and at least 40% aggregate in the written examination. 

There will be negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer in the multiple-choice questions.

2. Computer Proficiency Test

Candidates qualifying in the written examination will be called for the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).

The CPT consists of:

• Spreadsheet Test: 10 marks, 10 minutes.
• Candidates must score at least 4 marks.
• English Computer Typing Test: Required typing speed is 30 words per minute.

3. Document Verification/Interaction

Candidates who qualify the written examination and CPT will be called for checking of original testimonials/interaction.

4. Final Merit List

The final select list will be prepared strictly according to merit in the online written examination (CBT). If candidates obtain equal marks, the older candidate will be placed higher in merit; if the date of birth is also the same, alphabetical order will be considered. Advt dated 03.10.2026 Pb Clerk

Punjab High Court Clerk Salary 2026

Selected candidates for the Clerk post in the District Courts of Punjab will receive a pay scale of Rs 29,200 (Level-5) for fresh recruitment/appointment on or after July 17, 2020.
