UP PGT Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have the prescribed postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject along with the required teaching qualification.
For most subjects, the notification specifies:

Relevant postgraduate degree from a recognised university/institution.

B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognised programme.

Subject-specific qualifications may differ.
For example, candidates applying for Hindi must have a postgraduate qualification in Hindi along with the prescribed Sanskrit-related bachelor's qualification and B.Ed. Similarly, English, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and other subjects have their respective subject-wise qualifications.

The UP PGT selection process consists of a written examination followed by an interview.

The written examination carries 360 marks and consists of 120 objective-type questions.
