Assistant Teacher – Urban Primary Schools

• A Graduation degree from a legally established university or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• A recognized teacher-training qualification such as BTC, two-year BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, two-year Diploma in Special Education approved by RCI, or four-year B.El.Ed.
• A two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) under the applicable NCTE regulations is also covered.
• Must have qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the State Government or the Government of India.

Assistant Teacher – Aided Primary Schools

Candidates must possess:

1. Graduation degree from a recognized university/institution.
2. BTC/B.T.C. or D.El.Ed. qualification from an NCTE-recognized course.
3. Qualification in the TET for Classes 1 to 5 conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or the Government of India.

UPESSC Assistant Teacher Selection Process 2026

The written examination will carry 360 marks and contain 120 objective-type questions. The examination duration is 2 hours.

Exam Pattern

Each question has four options, with one most appropriate answer. 3 marks are awarded for a correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for an incorrect/multiple answer.
