AAI NR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Graduate/Degree Apprentices: Candidates should possess a full-time, regular four-year degree in the relevant engineering stream or the applicable qualification mentioned in the notification.

Diploma Apprentices: Candidates should possess a three-year regular Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline, recognized by AICTE/Government of India.

ITI Trade Apprentices: Candidates should possess an ITI/NCVT certificate in the relevant trade from an institution recognized by AICTE/Government of India.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
• Candidates must be domiciled in one of the states/UTs specified by AAI.
• Degree/Diploma candidates who passed in 2024 or after 2024 are eligible.
• Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship are not eligible.
• Candidates pursuing or having terminated an apprenticeship midway under the specified conditions are not eligible.
• Candidates with one year or more of apprenticeship/job experience after obtaining the essential qualification are not eligible.
• Candidates applying for more than one discipline will have their application rejected.

AAI Apprentice Stipend / Salary

This recruitment is for apprenticeship training, so candidates will receive a monthly stipend rather than a regular employee salary.

AAI Apprentice Selection Process 2026

The AAI Apprentice Selection Process 2026 is primarily merit-based.

Step 1: Merit List

The provisional selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

In case candidates have equal marks, date of birth and thereafter the date of passing will be considered for determining seniority. CGPA will be converted into percentage according to the concerned Board/University norms.

Step 2: Document Verification/Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called through their registered email IDs for document verification and, where applicable, interview-related formalities.

Step 3: Medical Fitness

Final selection is subject to verification of original documents and submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining. The certificate is to be obtained from a Government Medical Officer or Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking.

Step 4: Apprenticeship Contract

Selected candidates must sign and accept the apprenticeship contract through the relevant NATS/NAPS portal after joining AAI.
