SC, ST, BC, persons with benchmark disability, ex-servicemen, White Card families and unemployed youth of Andhra Pradesh are exempt from the Rs 120 examination fee. Candidates from other states do not get the fee exemption. The fee must be paid online, and it is non-refundable.
Age Limit
The age is counted as on 1 July 2026. The minimum is 18 years and the maximum is 44 years for most posts. The limits for the two police posts are different:

Qualification: a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in any discipline. DSP (Communications) needs a B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunication or Radio Engineering. Candidates must hold the qualification on the date of the detailed notification.
Physical standards (DSP posts): men need at least 167.6 cm height and 86.3 cm chest with 5 cm expansion (164 cm and 83.8 cm for ST). Women need at least 152.5 cm height and 45.5 kg weight. Vision standards are given in the official notification.
Some vacancies are carried forward from earlier recruitments and will be filled first. Local reservation applies to all posts except DSP (Communications). Candidates should check the official notification for the full list of conditions.

The Telugu and English papers are qualifying only. Candidates are called for the interview in the ratio of 1:2 against the vacancies. The Screening Test is held at all district centres, and the Main Examination is held at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Ananthapuramu.

The pay scale ranges from Rs 54,060 to Rs 1,54,980 per month depending on the post, with allowances as per Andhra Pradesh Government rules. The highest scale of Rs 65,360 to Rs 1,54,980 is for Divisional Development Officer.
