BPSC TRE-4 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be Indian citizens and possess the educational and teacher-training qualifications prescribed by NCTE. Special School Teacher eligibility will be governed by the applicable Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) requirements.

Educational Qualification

Primary Teacher – Classes 1 to 5

Candidates generally need the prescribed Higher Secondary qualification along with an approved elementary education teacher-training qualification such as the relevant D.El.Ed./equivalent qualification, as per NCTE norms.

Middle School Teacher – Classes 6 to 8

Candidates need the prescribed graduation-level qualification along with the required teacher-training qualification.

Subject-specific requirements apply. For example, candidates applying for Mathematics and Science must have studied the relevant subjects at graduation level.

Secondary Teacher – Classes 9 to 10

Candidates need the prescribed graduation/post-graduation and teacher-training qualifications according to the subject applied for.

Higher Secondary Teacher – Classes 11 to 12

Candidates generally require a relevant postgraduate qualification and prescribed teaching qualification, depending on the subject.

BPSC TRE-4 Application Fee

Additional Biometric Fee

Candidates who do not provide their Aadhaar number as an identity document in the online application have to pay an additional ?200 biometric fee.

BPSC TRE-4 Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

Preliminary Examination → Main Examination → Document Verification → Final Selection

Preliminary Examination

The preliminary examination will be based on General Studies.

The syllabus includes General Science, Current Affairs, Indian History, Bihar History, Geography, Indian Polity, Economy and General Mental Ability.

Main Examination

The Main Examination is objective in nature and includes Language, General Studies and subject-specific sections, depending on the school level.

For example, the Primary Teacher paper consists of 150 questions/marks with a 2.5-hour duration. The language section is qualifying and requires at least 30% marks.
