CUET UG 2026 Registration Begins: Apply Online, Dates, Eligibility & Exam Details

The wait is finally over! The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the notification for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026. Starting today, January 3, 2026, students across the country can begin their journey toward securing a seat in India’s top central, state, and private universities.

Important Dates to Remember

As per the official timetable, the CUET UG 2026 exam will be held from May 11 to May 31, 2026. The test will be conducted in computer-based (CBT) mode at various exam centres in India and abroad. Earlier, National Testing Agency (NTA) also announced some important changes in the exam pattern. Now, students can select up to five subjects, even if those subjects were not studied in Class 12, giving candidates more flexibility and choice.

Eligibility Criteria

Before you jump into the application, ensure you meet the basic requirements:

Educational Qualification: You must have passed Class 12 or be appearing for your board exams in 2026 from a recognised board.

Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in CUET UG. however, you must check the specific age requirements (if any) of the university you wish to join.

Subjects: You can choose subjects based on the requirements of your target university and course.

How to Fill the CUET UG 2026 Application Form

The entire process is online. Follow these simple steps

• Visit the Official Portal: Go to cuet.nta.nic.in.
• New Registration: Click on "New Registration" and enter your basic details (Name, Email, Phone Number) to generate your login credentials.
• Fill Application Form: Log in and enter your personal details, academic qualifications, and university/course preferences.
• Select Exam City: Choose up to four cities in order of preference.
• Upload Documents: Upload your scanned photograph, signature, and category certificates (if applicable)
• Pay Fee: Complete the process by paying the application fee via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.

Note: This year, NTA has introduced a mandatory live photograph capture during the application. Ensure you are using a device with a clear camera.

Documents Required

Keep these files ready in digital format:

• Recent Passport Size Photo: (10 KB to 200 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
• Scanned Signature: (4 KB to 30 KB).
• ID Proof: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or School ID.
• Category Certificate: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS (if applicable).
• Class 10 Marksheet: For date of birth verification.
