The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released the HPPSC HPAS Recruitment 2026 Notification for recruitment to various posts through the H.P. Educational Qualification

Candidates must be citizens of India and should possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. Candidates awaiting their qualifying examination result may also apply subject to the conditions specified in the notification.

Candidates who have passed the final professional MBBS or equivalent medical examination but have not completed their internship may also be provisionally admitted, subject to the conditions mentioned by HPPSC.

HPPSC HPAS Age Limit

The general age requirement is 21 years to 35 years as on 01 January 2026. Five years of upper-age relaxation is provided to eligible Himachal Pradesh SC/ST/OBC, Persons with Disabilities and Children/Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters where the post is reserved for these categories.

HPPSC HPAS Selection Process 2026

The HPPSC HPAS selection process consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary / Screening Examination

2. Main Examination

3. Personality Test

The Preliminary Examination has two objective papers: General Studies and Aptitude Test, carrying 200 marks each. The Aptitude Test is qualifying with a minimum requirement of 33%. Preliminary marks are not counted in the final merit.

Candidates qualifying in the Preliminary Examination are eligible for the Main Examination. The Main Examination includes compulsory papers and one optional subject. Candidates who qualify the written Main Examination are called for the Personality Test. Final ranking is based on the Main Examination and Personality Test marks, excluding the compulsory English and Hindi papers from overall ranking.

HPPSC HPAS Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the post-wise pay levels mentioned in the notification.

• HPAS: Level-18, Rs. 56,100–1,77,500

• BDO: Level-17, Rs. 53,600–1,70,100

• District Controller: Level-16, Rs. 48,700–1,54,300

• District Treasury Officer: Level-16, Rs. 48,700–1,54,300

• Tehsildar: Level-13, Rs. 46,000–1,46,500

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official HPPSC website.

1. Visit the official HPPSC website.

2. Click on “Apply Online”.

3. Select “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations”.

4. Complete New Registration if you are not already registered.

5. Log in to the OTR account.

6. Select the live HPAS Combined Competitive Examination advertisement.

7. Fill in the required details carefully.

8. Upload the required certificates and documents.

9. Preview the uploaded documents and verify that they are clear and readable.

10. Select the optional subject for the Main Examination.

11. Pay the Rs. 600/- examination fee online.

12. Submit the application and keep a copy for future reference.

HPPSC states that the application is considered successfully submitted only after the prescribed fee has been acknowledged and credited to the Commission.
