GRSE Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must possess the qualifications prescribed for their selected post as on 1 October 2026. Journeyman posts require 10th Pass and relevant National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or National Trade Certificate (NTC) qualifications. Driver (Vehicle) posts require a valid Commercial LMV Driving Licence and six years of relevant driving experience.

GRSE Journeyman Trade-Wise Educational Qualification

Important: Candidates must possess the exact trade qualification or an accepted alternative listed in the advertisement. A general ITI certificate in an unrelated trade is not sufficient.

GRSE Driver (Vehicle) Qualification and Experience

Important Driving Licence Rule: The Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence is listed as desirable, while six years of experience driving both light and heavy motor vehicles is essential. Candidates must satisfy the complete experience requirements in the advertisement.

Driver applicants must have a clean driving record without major accidents, police complaints related to accidents, serious traffic violations, reckless driving or driving under the influence of alcohol during the preceding six years.

Higher Professional Qualification Restriction

The notification excludes candidates holding specified higher professional qualifications, including Engineering/Technology degrees, MBA, CA, CMA, CS, LL.B., MCA, Ph.D. or equivalent higher professional qualifications.

Candidates must disclose all educational qualifications. Concealing a qualification may lead to cancellation of selection even after appointment.

GRSE Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The maximum age limit differs for Journeyman and Driver (Vehicle) posts. Age is calculated as on 1 October 2026.

GRSE Age Relaxation 2026

The maximum age after all applicable relaxations must not exceed 56 years. Relaxation is subject to the relevant reservation category and notification conditions.

GRSE Journeyman Stipend 2026

Selected Journeymen will undergo two years of training on a fixed monthly stipend.

PF contributions and applicable statutory deductions will be made according to the company's rules. Medical and hospitalization benefits are subject to the notified conditions.

GRSE Journeyman Absorption and Pay Scale

After successful completion of the two-year training, Journeymen may be considered for absorption into the permanent Semi-Skilled (SSK) grade, subject to performance, vacancies, medical fitness, disciplinary clearance and organizational requirements.

Important: Completion of Journeyman training does not automatically guarantee permanent absorption. The notified conditions must be fulfilled.

GRSE Driver (Vehicle) Salary 2026

The Driver (Vehicle) post carries a pay scale of Rs. 20,110 - 3% - Rs. 70,390 in Skilled Grade-III, along with applicable benefits.

The pay scale is subject to revision under the company's rules and does not represent a fixed in-hand salary.

GRSE Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

The application fee is Rs. 472 for candidates who do not qualify for an exemption.

Payment Mode: Online Payment Gateway through the prescribed recruitment portal. The fee is non-refundable, and no other payment mode is accepted.

GRSE Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The recruitment involves a written examination followed by a Practical Trade Test, document verification and other applicable assessments.

Journeyman Selection Process

1. Application scrutiny and shortlisting, if required.
2. Written Examination.
3. Document Verification.
4. Practical Trade Test.
5. Physical Efficiency Test for Crane Operator, Driver Material Handling and Rigger posts.
6. Medical Examination and applicable verification procedures.

The Physical Efficiency Test is qualifying in nature. The advertisement exempts shortlisted Ex-Agniveer candidates from PET for the applicable Journeyman posts.

Driver (Vehicle) Selection Process

1. Screening and shortlisting based on the prescribed eligibility and relevant experience.
2. Written Examination.
3. Document Verification.
4. Practical Driving / Trade Test.
5. Pre-Employment Medical Examination and other required checks.

GRSE will shortlist candidates for the Practical Trade Test in a ratio of approximately 1:5 based on written examination merit, subject to the notified tie rules.

GRSE Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern

The written examination for both recruitment categories is an OMR-based test consisting of 100 objective questions for 100 marks, with a duration of two hours. The qualifying marks differ for Journeyman and Driver (Vehicle).

Practical Trade Test Qualifying Marks

The Practical Trade Test carries 50 marks and is qualifying in nature. Candidates must obtain at least 50%, or the applicable relaxed qualifying percentage, to be considered for final merit.

The final merit list will be prepared using written examination marks among candidates who qualify in the required Practical Trade Test and other applicable selection stages.
