Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed the full-time HSSLC (Class 12) examination in the Science stream with Biology as one of the subjects from a recognised Board, Council or University.
Domicile Requirement
The candidate must:
- Be an Indian Citizen.
- Be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Upload a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes.
PwBD Eligibility
Candidates applying under the PwBD category must have a Benchmark Disability of 40% or more and must produce the required certificate from the competent authority.

Assam VFA Selection Process 2026
The recruitment process includes an OMR-based written test for selection of qualified candidates.
Step 1: Written Examination
Candidates will appear for the 100-mark written test covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics and General Awareness.
Step 2: Mandatory Training
Candidates selected for the post must undergo one year of mandatory training in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
The training will be conducted at the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Assam, Ghungoor, Silchar and its extended campuses.

Selected candidates will receive the following pay:
Pay Band-2: Rs 14,000 – Rs 70,000
In addition, candidates will receive:
- Grade Pay: Rs 6,200
