Domicile Rule
Candidates who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can apply only against Unreserved/Open vacancies and do not receive reservation or age-relaxation benefits applicable to MP domicile candidates.
MP Police SI Age Limit 2026
The notification provides different upper-age limits depending on gender, category, domicile, and other applicable conditions.
- MP unreserved male candidates: up to 33 years
- MP women candidates: up to 38 years
- Eligible reserved-category MP male candidates: up to 38 years
- Certain government employees and other eligible categories: up to 38 years
- Eligible women receiving specified additional relaxation: up to 43 years

MP Police SI Selection Process 2026
The selection process is conducted in multiple stages.
1. Preliminary Written Examination
The first stage is a 100-mark preliminary written examination of 2 hours.

The technical paper carries 300 marks and has 100 objective questions.
4. Physical Proficiency Test
The Physical Proficiency Test is compulsory and carries 100 marks.

- 800-metre race – 40 marks
- Long jump – 30 marks
- Shot put – 30 marks
Candidates get one opportunity for the 800-metre race and three opportunities each for long jump and shot put.
5. Interview
Candidates who achieve the prescribed minimum physical-test marks and successfully complete document verification are called for a 50-mark personality interview.

The official physical-test tables specify different standards for male and female candidates.
The minimum physical-test score required before the interview is:
- Non-technical posts: 30 marks
- Technical posts: 20 marks

Selected candidates for Subedar and Sub Inspector cadre posts will receive:
