CIHTS Faculty Recruitment 2026 (59 Professor, Associate & Assistant Professor Posts)

Overview

Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), Sarnath, Varanasi, a Deemed-to-be University under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has released the official CIHTS Faculty Recruitment 2026 notification for 59 regular faculty vacancies across its Academic and Research Departments. The recruitment includes Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor posts under Advertisement No. CIHTS/Acad./Rectt. 01/2026, and appointments will be made as per UGC Regulations 2018 and the institute's recruitment rules.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the prescribed online recruitment portal, while a hard copy of the completed application must also be submitted within the timeline mentioned in the official recruitment advertisement. Both the online application and hard-copy submission are mandatory as per the recruitment process.

Candidates with the required Master's Degree, Ph.D., and teaching or research experience as prescribed under UGC eligibility norms are eligible to apply for the respective faculty posts. Selected candidates will receive UGC Academic Pay Levels, along with applicable allowances and other service benefits as per CIHTS rules.

Vacancy Details

Professor Academic Level 14	09	Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks at Master’s level + Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience in University/College with high impact research publications and doctoral guidance.
Associate Professor	07	Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject with a Master’s degree (at least 55% marks) + Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience in an academic/research position with published research work.
Assistant Professor	43	Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD) in the concerned subject from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university + Qualified UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / SLET / SET OR Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations.
