Overview

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released Advertisement No. 62/9-2026 dated 19 September 2026, inviting Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) for 228 Medical Officer (General Wing) (Job Trainee), Group-A posts in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh. The recruitment is being conducted under the Job Trainee Scheme introduced by the Government of Himachal Pradesh for appointments on a fixed-remuneration basis.

This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for MBBS-qualified candidates seeking Group-A Government medical jobs in Himachal Pradesh.

The online application process is currently open through the official HPPSC portal, and the last date to submit applications and pay the application fee is 16 October 2026 (11:59 PM).

Candidates applying for the Medical Officer (General Wing) post must possess a recognized MBBS or equivalent qualification, have completed the Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship, and be 18 to 45 years of age as on 01 January 2026. The recruitment also includes backlog vacancies across UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories, along with horizontal reservations for Ex-Servicemen, Wards of Freedom Fighters, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities belonging to Himachal Pradesh.

The selection process will be conducted according to HPPSC recruitment rules and consists of a Screening Test/Subject Aptitude Test, followed by a Personality Test for shortlisted candidates. The examinations and interviews will be conducted in Shimla, and selected candidates will be appointed as Medical Officer (General Wing) Job Trainees under the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
