GMC KB Asifabad Recruitment 2026 (Walk in for 99 Professor, Assistant Professor and More Posts)
Overview
Government Medical College (GMC), Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Telangana, has released the GMC KB Asifabad Recruitment 2026 notification for 99 contract and honorarium-based vacancies across 19 medical departments. The recruitment includes Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Senior Resident posts, and eligible candidates will be selected through a walk-in interview.
 
Candidates with MBBS, MD, MS, or DNB qualifications, along with Telangana State Medical Council registration and the required teaching or clinical experience as per NMC norms, are eligible to apply. The maximum age limit is below 69 years for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor posts, while Senior Resident candidates should be below 45 years for most specialties and below 50 years for select pre-clinical and para-clinical departments.
 
The recruitment is being conducted only through a walk-in interview, with no online or postal application process. Eligible candidates must attend the Walk-In Interview on 11 September 2026, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, at the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Telangana, carrying the prescribed application form, original certificates, self-attested photocopies, passport-size photographs, and other required documents.
 
Selected candidates will receive consolidated monthly remuneration according to the respective post as per Telangana Government norms, and the appointments will remain valid up to 31 March 2027, or until regular appointments are made or the requirement ends, whichever is earlier.
 
Candidates should carefully check the department-wise vacancies, educational qualification, age limit, salary, before attending the walk-in interview.

  • Associate Professor in the subject for 3 years at a recognized medical institution; at least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor (among the first three authors); completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research; must undergo the Basic Course in Medical Education. A Senior Consultant with 3 years' experience as a postgraduate teacher of a broad/super specialty subject at an NBE-recognized government medical institute is also eligible.
Associate Professor 26
  • Assistant Professor in the subject for 4 years at a recognized medical institution, or 5 years for those appointed directly as Assistant Professor in a government medical institution; at least 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor (among the first three authors); completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research; must undergo the Basic Course in Medical Education. A non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with a PG medical degree and 10 years' experience in at least a 220-bedded government hospital is also eligible, subject to completing both basic courses within two years of appointment.
Assistant Professor 34
  • One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject at a recognized medical institution (Tutor or Demonstrator experience with the relevant PG qualification may count as equivalent); or a non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with a PG medical degree and at least 2 years' experience in a government hospital with at least 220 beds; or diploma holders appointed as Senior Resident before 08-06-2017 with 4 years' total experience; or diploma holders working as Specialist/Medical Officer with 6 years' cumulative experience in a government medical institution.
Senior Resident 24
  • Undergoing residency after obtaining a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB), or a postgraduate MSc with PhD in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, or Microbiology.
