JMI Teaching Recruitment 2026 (Professor, Associate Professor and More Posts)
Overview
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released the JMI Teaching Recruitment 2026 notification, inviting online applications for 46 teaching positions from Indian nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. The recruitment includes Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Principal, and Head of Section posts across various departments and institutions under the university.
This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking faculty positions in one of India's premier Central Universities.
 
The online application process will begin on 16 September 2026 and remain open until 06 October 2026. After completing the online application, candidates must submit a hard copy of the application along with the required supporting documents so that it reaches the university by 16 October 2026.
 
Eligible candidates must fulfill the UGC, AICTE, NCTE, or other applicable regulatory qualifications and experience requirements for the respective teaching posts. The detailed department-wise eligibility, educational qualifications, research experience, age criteria (where applicable), and reservation rules should be verified carefully in the official notification before applying.
 
The selection process will be conducted according to JMI recruitment guidelines and may include shortlisting, interview, presentation (where applicable), and document verification. Selected candidates will be appointed to teaching positions at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and will receive salary and benefits as per the applicable Central Government and university pay scales.

  • Candidates must possess B.E., B.Tech. or B.S. and M.E., M.Tech., M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in the relevant branch, with first class or an equivalent grade in at least one of the degrees.
Principal 01
  • Candidates must possess a Ph.D. and first class at either the Bachelor's or Master's level with at least 16 years of teaching, research or industry experience. Alternatively, candidates with first class at the Bachelor's or Master's level and at least 20 years of experience may apply, subject to the experience conditions in the notification.
Head of Section 01
  • Candidates must possess a Ph.D. with first class at the Bachelor's or Master's level and at least 12 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's and Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 15 years of experience is accepted, subject to the conditions stated in the advertisement.
