UPSC Recruitment 2026 (Specialist, Assistant Professor and More 212 Posts)
Overview
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Advertisement No. 11/2026, inviting online recruitment applications for 212 vacancies across seven distinct posts in various Central Government Ministries, Departments, and the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh. The recruitment includes Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anatomy and General Medicine), Assistant Editor, Specialist Grade-II (Junior Scale) in Anaesthesiology and Paediatrics, Assistant Public Prosecutor, and Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer posts.
 
The online application process begins on 12 September 2026 through the official UPSC Online Recruitment Portal. The last date to apply is 02 October 2026 (6:00 PM) for all posts except the Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer post for Ladakh, which has an extended closing date of 09 October 2026 (6:00 PM).
 
Eligibility varies according to the post. Candidates must possess the prescribed MBBS, postgraduate medical qualifications, Law degrees, Journalism qualifications, or other post-specific educational qualifications and experience, depending on the position. The detailed age limit, educational qualification, experience requirements, and reservation rules are specified separately for each post in the official notification.
 
The selection process will be conducted through interview, although the Commission may conduct a Recruitment Test (RT) or shortlisting wherever required before the interview. Selected candidates will be appointed to Group 'A' and other notified Central Government posts under the applicable 7th CPC Pay Levels, along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other admissible Government benefits.

  • Recognised medical qualification (MBBS-equivalent) plus PG degree/diploma in Anaesthesiology (MD/MS Anaesthesiology, DA, FFARCS, or equivalent).
Specialist Grade-II (Junior Scale) – Paediatrics 01
  • Recognised medical qualification plus PG degree/diploma in Paediatrics (MD Paediatrics, or Diploma Paed./DCH).
Assistant Public Prosecutor 140
  • Degree in Law from a recognised University/Institute.
Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer 04
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (Professional or Integrated) from a university established by law in India, with 2 years' actual practice at the bar, certified by the Principal District & Sessions Judge or Registrar General of the concerned High Court/Supreme Court.
